This trend obsession blind sided me a little. Desert boots are the sort of footwear your dad would approve of, which should automatically render them unappealing to the world’s fashionistas, but somehow I find myself very in the market for them.
I haven’t shopped in Clarks since I was a child and I managed to persuade my mum to buy me a pair of Magic Steps (who remembers those? Check out this very 80s ad and indulge your nostalgia), but nobody does a desert shoe as comfortable and appealing. And if you really can’t over their dad-ness buy one that’s almost as comfy with a wedge for extra height.

I bought a pair recently from Carvela in dusky lilac with a wooden heel…amazing! I used to totally rock a flat suede style when I was in primary school with some candy coloured striped jeans.
